A coupla weeks ago I went through Costco and found a Ford dealer up in the DC area (Columbia MD) who had all their prices on their web site, the sales guy who called me had a coupla other reduction deals (student -$500, first time buyer another -$500 I think). The prices were about as low as I have seen, pretty much pay and go. I don't know if Toyota does like that, but that seemed like a pretty good way to do it, and the sales guy was like, come and get it, this is the best you can do anywhere, and I had to agree. He also said his price was lower than what the "Costco" price was.

You might recall I looked at used prices and even for a car a few years older they were not significantly less, considering what issues a car with 50k or 70k miles might have. The market is kinda screwy these days.

I kinda get the sense that with the internet, and dealers just looking to move product (their margins come on repairs and financing) you can find the "bottom-line" deal by looking around, and asserting cash money drive it away no screwing around pricing. I would think that something from the RDU area, or Charlotte, would give you a better deal just because of volume they move, or even a bit further into DC area. You want a Toyota, just check their web sites and see what they have, shoot a note, ask for cash money price today.
