You don't need much. A jack, a couple of jack stands and some socket wrenches. It took me a couple of hours to do the one in my wagon. That kind of bummed me out as I used to do that in 1/2 to 3/4 hour but that was about 30 years ago with a lift and air tools. Ah the good old days when I could really work. Now I just piddle along.

I don't worry about the time it takes most of the time. I only care that I allow enough time to finish whatever i start. I hate having a car up on blocks so to speak for a week while I wait on parts (that used to arrive in a day or two before computers and "overnight" delivery. Whatever used to take me 4 hours now seems to take a day or more.

I spent most of a weekend taking off the intake manifold, and lines, replacing DV union seals and glow plugs and installing new plastic clips when I put it back together. The second part was getting the hood latch parts out of the trunk, soaking them in BioD to free them up, then taking off the left headlight door and turn signal to get access, and installing the latches, the grill and making sure it was all adjusted right. Shoulda been done in 4-5 hours. But I interspersed some gardening and other misc. little projects in the mix.

Not a lot accomplished for a whole weekend. But very satisfying to have an OM603 that starts nicely and runs better. One of the other little jobs mixed in was vacuuming out all the leaves and gunk under the hood and between the firewalls and around the trunk seal.
