That will automatically configure itself for you network hardware, so if you can then get online, you can rule out a hardware problem. Plus you might find that you like Linux ;) Barring that option, I would try uninstalling the network card drivers, then rebooting the machine and let Windows find the hardware and go through the "New Hardware Found " dance. That worked for me when I had an HP laptop that would periodically forget that it had a wireless card.
