The paper wasps are actualy beneficial insects. I have seen them feasting on caterpillars in my vegetable garden. Their nests are affixed to the carport roof; I have never been stung by them (fingers crossed) or by the numerous loud-buzzing carpeneter bees busily drilling holes in the eaves and soffits.
