The basics should be the same, in 85/86 they went to the KE/CISE injection system. The 123's as far as I know always used the K/CIS injection system. Cold start valves and other parts of the K-jetronic system can give trouble but are generally easy to fix/replace. Fuel pumps is one of the things that gives out regularly on these types of fuel injection systems. It is recommended to strictly follow the oil change routines in the M102 motor with single timing chain.
Other than that it is the usual 123 problems to look for.
However a word of caution, if this vehicle has not been properly maintained and has no service history you may get more trouble than you budgeted on. There is a difference between used and abused and used and maintained.
