This is the same Peter who wants to enact punitive taxes on private car ownership -- the latter being the reason we're all on this list -- as social engineering to encourage the development of nationwide high-speed rail. He's a victim of the delusion all too common to the scientifically and technically minded, that social and political problems admit to easy, logical solutions, and that the best people to decide and enact those solutions are those same scientists.
