So this evening my children and I went to see a 1989 190E 2.6 5-speed.
Interesting narrative in the eBay ad. The guy works near my indie, so we met
there. My mechanic hates ANY 190, so he wasn¹t very positive. The ad gave
me the impression that this was a Euro, but the seller says its an MBUSA car
that was special ordered by his dad.

The car has a lot of miles, and more than a few door dings. I neither drive
it or rode in it. The seller ( An army SSgt who just came back from Git-Mo
beating up Arabs to preserve my freedom, for which I thanked him) The car
also has dull paint and some spots where the paint is almost worn through.
The hood pad is missing. The engine is clean.
The car has nice wheels and aftermarket booming stereo. He claims all
records since new, including the window sticker. Overall, cosmetically, it
was okay. I¹d call it very good when you factor in its 17 years old and has
285,000 miles on it.
I told him to get the most he can thru eBay, and if any deal fell through,
call me and we¹ll talk.
After dinner, I get a phone call. ³The eBay price is now $3050. The wife
and I decided if you want it, we¹ll sell it for $3300.²
I told him I¹d let him know.
