I don't have the numbers at hand, but they are fairly rare. If you
like the SLC styling (not all do), it's the most desirable of the
line. It was built to test the new aluminum block V-8 engines under
racing conditions. They built a few more than needed to qualify as a
production car for rallying. This was Mercedes' first re-entry into
racing after early 60's (?) accident where a Mercedes car crashed into
a crowd of spectators.
