Above all else, be aware of your surroundings and learn to really watch and
read people. If you choose to carry a weapon, retain a criminal defense
atty. Write that attorneys number in ink on your ankle. [ Immediately, upon
being taken under custody, all clothing and personal effects will be taken
from you, the attys number writen on your ankle will save you a lot of
grief when you make your "one phone call", eventually. If you defend
yourself you will be, at the least, detained by police. "I want to have my
attorney present" is the first and only thing you should say.
What size gun you choose to carry won't matter at that point. Since you are
talking to the police, you won the gunfight and now the real fight for your
life and property begins.
