As older homes upgrade to gas or get torn down, there will be less use for heating oil. There are also issues with sources of oil. Venezuelan crude is crap for motor fuel, but much better for diesel and kerosene. The stuff we produce in Texas and such is light sweet, Really nice for gasoline. I am going to surmise the thick nasty muck in the Atabaskan oil sands would be good for running trains, trucks and tanker ships
