I would think that the more socialist the government, then the better it is for the poor. If one is a poor senior then one might be better off if the government provides more services even if the tax rates are higher etc.

How about someplace like Arkansas? Not too far north so the winters are not too bad. Not too far south so the summers should not be too bad. Lots of poor folks so you won't have to keep up with the neighbors. Your 50 year old rusty MB will fit right in.

Or you could turn the tables on them and sneak into Mexico. Supposed to be cheap to live there.
