Yeah I hear you, my LL Bean hiking boots are made in Italy, they're twice as much money as the Chinee ones but last 3x as long.

For instance I put cheap Advance Auto calipers on my '83 240D years ago because they were what I could get on a Saturday afternoon. They lasted the whole 25,000 miles I had the car and never gave any trouble. It would have been hard to justify more expensive calipers. Same with the cheap rotors and pads I put on it. I'd bought the car for $400, the brake job cost another I think $250... > >-Curt > > >________________________________ > From: Gary Hurst <jabbahur...@gmail.com> >To: Curt Raymond <curtlud...@yahoo.com>; Mercedes Discussion List ><mercedes@okiebenz.com> >Sent: Monday, September 29, 2014 1:27 PM > >Subject: Re: [MBZ] Brake rotors - does brand matter? > > > >yeah, and you guys have had such luck with chinese product anyway. keep it up! > > > > >On Mon, Sep 29, 2014 at 1:10 PM, Curt Raymond via Mercedes ><mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > >Remember the cost of making the parts has been going up in non-China countries >and prices haven't really risen.
