A'yup, I was the second to last bidder. Presently, my #14 head is
halfway off the car, and ready to become lawn art.

Casey, and all,

I just pulled a number 18 head off an 87 300SDL. This head appears so new
that all the injection line plastic clips were intact. Also, no exhaust
manifold studs were broken yet. The only thing bad I saw was green
antifreeze, at
least it still had water in it when it was crashed. There is no visible
carbon build up on the valves or in the ports and the head gasket was intact.

Without starting a bidding war, if a 17 went for $900, what is a seasoned,
practically new 18 head worth? I just missed a 105,000 mile SDL car in Saint
Louis (needed a head) for $1500. What a combo that would have made!
