I'm not piling on or taking sides here, just curious:

What kind of costs are involved in replacement of the batteries on a Prius?  I 
had an acquaintance who bought one new and later sold or traded it when the 
batteries needed replacement. She didn't know what the costs were when I asked 
(her husband is a CPA and dealt with all the car buying details.)

She's driving a CPO Benz of some sort now...
