There was a fellow here years ago that made a 4WD 300TD using a Nissan pickup chassis. As I recall, part of the reason he choose Nissan running gear is the divorced transfer case - which means he was using the Mercedes transmission. I'm remembering he was pleased with the result, despite grief from the purists. *smiles* Nope.
