My '84 190D is seeing its last winter, the tin worm has gotten pretty serious and I can't see putting a bunch of money into it.Since its our third car and I commute almost exclusively with the Jetta I can have the third car be a toy. I like the idea of staying in the MB family although if I found a good deal on something else I'd snag it. Dan is so enamored of the 140 I thought maybe I'd give that a try. My tentative budget is around $3000 which is twice what I paid for the Jetta or either of my 240Ds. I'm not stuck on diesel (good right?) since its our third car economy isn't a huge issue... I did find a 280SL R107 on craigslist and vaguely remember that the 6 cylinder is the desirable one even if its still a 107.
