There was one at our little airport a coupla months back, and when it
took off and flew over along the beach just south of the estate, I could
hear it and see it and it had the same effect!
I have mentioned too having a B-52 fly over the house north of Boston
one day, not more than a few hundred feet high, on its way to an air
show at Hanscom Field. I was up on a ladder putting in gutters, and
heard it before it was past the roof line when I looked up and saw it
and about fell off the ladder! Or maybe it was shaking the ladder so
hard...
When I was a kid in Indiana we would occasionally go to Peru, IN to
Bunker Hill AFB (which later became Grissom AFB) to see the planes and
visit my dad's cousin who was in the AF and was stationed there for
awhile. They had B-58s on the field, and we could watch them take off
and land. That was some impressive show.
