I've wanting to get into arc welding of some sort, and started watching the various videos at http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/mig-welding-videos.html (send by Grant a few days ago?). I decided that for lighter metal and around the house, a 115 volt MIG/Flux core wire welder is all I need. If you buy the one that can accept a spool gun and gas, you can also weld aluminum, but the range of gauges is limited to .050 to .075 or so. Probably good enough to fabricate gas tanks, etc.
You might need to be able to read/speak English to take/pass the code test.
