I thought that was just the W126, unless you're talking about the coolant line 
that is routed through the washer reservoir on other models?

For those who haven't field stripped a W126 chassis car, they have a "pad" that 
is located below the cowl that coolant flows through. It lays on top of the 
windshield glass below the cowl, and is thermostatically controlled. When it 
gets cold, the thermostat opens, allowing warm coolant to pass through the pad, 
warming the base of the windshield to prevent fogging and ice buildup.

Pretty cool, actually.
