True, except that the CPS isn’t looked at until the key is released with the 
expectation that there is a signal to the EZL from it so the EZL can take over 
spark and timing. During cranking there is a fixed signal for spark and timing, 
essentially bypassing the EZL until cranking is done.

At least that’s how I understand it.
