I am sure the stealer has a way to get in without bashing the grill.
May be worth some calls, long term stealers who sold 124s may have
the knowledge. most don't retain employees that long, and are
therefor useless. Nothing in the CDs?

I'm skeptical that you can get it open going through the grill, I'm going
to take a look at my '95 and see what it looks like. I remember examining
the mechanism and thinking that it would be quite difficult to defeat. I
think that all of the cable/lever part is inside a metal box with no access.
