At the risk of starting a whole new thread, the battery isn't normally the
real issue now. I think I have that one beat but won't know for certain
until we get some really cold -0F days.

The main problem right now is glow plugs. All four are relatively new
(within the last year or so). They work just fine when the temperature is
+20F or higher. Lower than that, they sometimes don't seem to work. That
isn't accurate -- the indicator light doesn't work when it gets cold. I've
not yet jumped out and put a voltmeter on the plugs to see if they are
indeed getting current.

Happened to me today. Temp was +11F when I left for lunch at 11:00 am.
Turned to pre-glow position and no light. Counted to 60 and turned they key.
Car started after about five seconds of cranking.

The glow plugs have been upgraded to parallel; it isn't the original loop
plugs. I've tried swapping glow plug relays with no change. I am using the
factory relay, not the after-glow one that comes with the conversion kit.

I am sure it is a temp sensor somewhere that is crapping out on me. That is
the only reason I can think that my car would suddenly think that it is a
hot day and the car is all warmed up, not needing any pre-glow.
