ah. that's ingenious. But why in the "road coupled" version do you need an extra generator? You have one engine which powers, say the front wheels conventionally and it also turns a generator which powers an electric motor which drives the rear wheels at a certain point, the conventional disengages and you run electric...where does the second generator come in? I'm curious, too. There *are* simple ways to create parallel hybrids -- for example, a "road-coupled" hybrid where you have the electric motor connected to one set of wheels and the gasoline engine connected to the other. The series hybrid is conceptually simpler but requires a seperate generator and a larger electric motor, so it drives up the cost and weight. In a parallel hybrid the same device can serve as both motor and generator. _______________________________________ http://www.striplin.net For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://striplin.net/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_striplin.net Christopher McCann, Squier Park, Kansas City, Missouri -2005 Blue Point Siamese, "Rose" -1992 Volkswagen Golf, diesel, 185K km, "Nanook" -1987 300TD, 151K, "Rotkäppchen" -1985 300SD, 211K, "Wulf" -1976 240D, ?K, "AKP-Wagen" (Alternativen Kraftstoffs Prüfenlastwagen) -1972 Jacobsen 21" Turbo Vent -1971 Case 222 Hydrive, 12HP Kohler, 38" deck, Snowcaster, "One Banger" --------------------------------- Relax.
