I would replace the axle.. penny wise, pound foolish not to. To much riding
on it's save operation.. if and when it shucks another wheel.. could be in
traffic... major damage or death to someone else.. or yourself... if the
trailer is loaded and starts fishtailing because it's suddenly out of
balance..

I would also replace the hub.. just because it's been subject to equal
damage as the axle stub...
