They can be molded into all sorts of weird shapes. Actual
illumination of the road these days seems to be achieved by just
upping the output.
They are also supposed to be "safer" because they don't break when
hit bit stones. Of course, I've never had a headlight broken OUT by
a stone, just some chips.

Uh! Glass is silica in a liquid state. Glass can be made into any
of the same shapes as the prastic junk.
Point 1 is bogus. Prastic may be cheaper, or may not be.
I take issue with point #2 also. The prastic surrounds on 123, 124
and 126 break far easier than the glass light
My conclusion: the prastic lenses are just one of hundreds of ways
the 210, 140 and later mbs are junk.
