For the tranny, use Mobil-1 ATF, or any quality Dexron fluid per the
specs in the owner's manual.

For the P/S, I would get the proper MB stuff, order it from Rusty if
it's not convenient locally. The real MB fluid is a gold/amber color,
not red. But, you don't *have* to use the MB fluid... and if not, I
would use Mobil-1 ATF for the P/S fluid too. Again, any quality Dexron
fluid should suffice in a pinch.

In the past, I had used Valvoline SynPower fluid because it was cheap,
easy to locate, and not red... but I had mixed results with that
fluid, and eventually decided it wasn't worth saving a few bucks to
not use the genuine MB fluid. I don't know of anyone who ever had
problems with M-1 ATF, though.
