Things that I once considered very basic have become extinct because the business won't carry them in inventory because their computer says not enough were sold last quarter to justify the space on the shelf. Try buying a new plug to put on the end of an extension cord. It is usually just as much money as a whole new cord. Wasteful!
We are being dragged into a changing world whether we like it or not.


RB who has acquired some of the tools but sadly not the skills as yet to do much with them


I went to a major brand grocery store to look for lye, vinegar and ammonia for tank cleaning. I found nothing. (By rights they probably DID have the vinegar somewhere. But lye is near unobtanium. Why sell ammonia for $2-3 for enough to clean windows for years when they can sell windex for $4-5 a bottle that will last only a month or two.
