All you have to do is get her a v10 diesel Touareg. A friend got
one a few years ago. That thing does GO! GO! GO! real nicely. It
also has some good towing power.

The wife will never be dieselfied. She is a ?stop and GO-GO-GO!!? driver, and
no matter how good a diesel is, she?ll never be satisfied with the performance
of the older diesels relative to a vergasser.
If I get the 300D it will go to my oldest son and I?ll take Tommy?s W140 back
(you want it back, Tom? I?ll make you a heck of a deal!) He longs for a W124
chassis car again, and since his former W124 was a 2.6 the five cylinder diesel
won?t be that different performance-wise. He?ll especially enjoy the economy,
which is one of the main reasons for switching him. He has a fairly long
commute and the S420 sucks a lot of his $$ keeping it in gas, even though it
probably averages in the high teens.
The youngster loves his W140s, so if I could find a nice W140 diesel I could
get him swapped over, too. He would enjoy the economy as well, as he?s just
into the ?luxury? aspect of the car *and* he?s a real tightwad.
Let there be diesel!!!
