Good to know, Kaleb. Thanks!

A couple of comments/observations:

I ran the car this morning, and while it’s not really that hot yet, I occurred
to me that the cooling system works so well that I have never had it get hot
enough to trigger the auxiliary fans. They do work, as shorting the switch at
the thermostat housing or receiver/dryer will both cause them to come on, so I
know they’re working.

Is it possible that the refrigerant isn’t getting to a high enough pressure to
cause the fans to come on? Or maybe my pressure switch is bad?

I am going to jumper the system so the aux fans are on all the time and see how
things work. This would give me a good idea as far as understanding whether or
not I’m not getting enough air through the condenser or my pressures aren’t
right/pressure switch is bad. I need to do some research to see what the
pressure switch is supposed to trigger at.

The Duracool is pretty expensive relative to R134a. A case of 12 cans is $88,
where a case of R134a is about $50-$60. That being said, if it’s more
efficient the difference could be worthwhile in my climate. We’ve had some
days this week after the storm with dew points above 75, which is almost
unheard of. Talk about supersaturated air….
