That one I got for $40some works pretty well, a 32GB SD card was another
$20 if I recall. In general all this cheepchineechit is throwaway stuff
anyway, it's like insurance, if you ever need it is there, if it fails
after a few months you've paid a few $$ a month for the dashcam
insurance, then get another one.

You will get $17 worth of dashcam if you purchase this item. The first
thing that I noticed was that it resembles a cheap toy. It is of molded
plastic construction and not precision made. The nuts for the mounting
attachment and swivel attachment are molded plastic and I was afraid to
strip their threads, and cross-threading them is very possible. The
swivel screen is equally non-precision and moves laterally about its
hinge pin. Since I was afraid to tighten the swivel nut more than
moderately finger tight, the entire assembly moved when I closed the
swivel screen so I had to guess the correct position, which was too low
to capture traffic lights as a result. It has approximately 60° field of
view, forward only, and the image quality is not great. It records in AVI
format and a 16 minute drive video was 1.2 GB, so it will probably loop
after several hours which is OK. However, in the videos I took, the
license plate numbers of other vehicles could not be distinguished (see
video). Only the date and time accompany the videos, there is no GPS
function therefore no speed or location information. It records sound but
the sound volume becomes inaudible after about a minute of the video
playback, indicating an anomaly with the microphone pickup level
management. I have not tried it at night yet, nor have tried it long
enough to asses the battery life. I am really scratching my head about
all the unbiased 4 and 5 star reviews...........but on a positive note,
it records video, and takes pictures. Oh well, I shall probably donate it
to a needy person (not worth the hassle of RMA) and buy a more upmarket
product.
