Sister had one of those in the late '40s. It could be dangerous because its early automatic would kick out of gear if you gave it a little too much gas. Mechanic said it was designed to do that because it had brass gears that would strip with excessive torque or misalignment of gear teeth. Pulling out into Richmonds traffic and having it kick out of gear could be exciting since you had to wait for the engine to wind down so it would go back into gear. It's flathead 6 cylinder engine wasn't a powerhouse.
