Badgers are fairly large burrowing animals, with a nasty disposition and a nasty set of teeth. They will burrow near a fence cornerpost and knock down two miles of fence (at least out here in the west) by doing so. We caught one running down the lane on the south side of the 80 acres we had south of Calhan, Colorado. The lane was on the north side of our neighbor's fenced field and on the south side of our unfenced field. We were headed east on the lane to go visit the neighbor and came upon the badger, also headed east. As we approached in our 4000# Willys Utility Wagon, the badger turned north into our field. I followed in the Utility wagon. I had to run him over 8 times before he stopped moving.
