I'd forgotten to get my Jetta inspected in October when it was due so today I figured I ought to get to it. The guy was busy so since it'd been sitting a few weeks I ran it around some to get everything warmed and mixed. Thats when I realized the windshield squirters didn't work. I figured it was empty so I added some juice which didn't help. Brought it home, the hose has a junction so I pulled that, no fluid, no noise. The pump and bottle reside behind the battery but out in the front of the car so easy access. I pulled the bottle and applied 12v across the pump, first I got the polarity backwards and made a weird little noise but then spun. I switched the wires and it pumped fine. I wonder if it was a little stuck from sitting and running it backwards broke it free? I don't use it much in the summer time. Anyway alls well that ends well.
