Cubs is kind of bittersweet. I have been a lifelong Chicagoland resident, and to not have the Cubs as "Lovable Losers", and not hearing "Wait until next year" is quite a shock. Something that was utterly and absolutely never expected. A friend of mine was at a Blackhawks game two years ago, maybe three, and the then, new owner of the Cubs was there (Tom Ricketts), and he had a small crowd around him that recognized him. He told the crowd that he would have the Cubs in contention for a championship in two years. Never underestimate a dynamic business leader when he turns his attention from his primary business to something else, and makes a commitment. The Cubs would still be the "Lovable Losers" under their old ownership.
