Rather than dumping ATF into the fuel, which is my mind has always been a somewhat questionable practice, do a couple of rounds of Diesel Purge at the pump then hit it with a couple of bottles of Red Line Diesel Fuel Catalyst. You can find it at Pep Boys among other FLAPS.
