Someone spent a lot of time, effort, and money doing the motor home conversion on that bus. It also has a "roof raise" which makes the interior height about 7'6". More money and time. Looks like it's been setting a while from the moss accumulation [more than 2 days in the land of rain and wet].
That bus takes a Detroit Diesel, either a 6V71 or a 6V92, setting sideways at the rear AND tilted with a special oil pan to allow for the tilt, so you can't "just drop in a Frightliner engine, sorry. Replacement engine, running takeout, would cost you in the $6K to $12K range, Plus labor to install. Overhaul out of frame would run easily in the $8K to $25K range, if you can find a Detroit trained mechanic and shop to do it for you. Tow would be on a HEAVY haul Landoll Lowboy trailer at the usual rate of $500 per hour, timed from the haulers dock, while it's being loaded, to your point of delivery, and back to haulers dock. [That ain't a cheap tow] So, free is the right price, or, on reflection, a lot to high.
