It's not.  What I've done is to just barely loosen the hinge bolts
and then tap with a soft mallet to get it to scoot little by little.
It's still not easy.

Also, scribe around the hinge plate before you start, so if you make things worse you have a baseline to go back to. (And you probably *will* make things worse, the first time you try it.)
