I have used Cocktail on all my Macs since he introduced it some years ago.

It's basically a utility that lets you fine tune existing cron jobs and run 
them at your convenience. Things like rotating logs, clearing caches, stuff 
like that.

Does it make a big difference? Probably not. However, I like it for the ability 
to let me do some housekeeping at a time of my choosing and not have to go into 
the terminal and run a bunch of commands.
