I finally got over to the barn to mess a bit with this thing, I got it
jacked up and on blg timber blocks so I could get under it. This car is
actually really nice, quite clean. Body only has a coupla little dings,
paint pretty good, interior is pretty nice with a bit of cleaning, no
rust anywhere, no drips. I'm guessing it was garaged until not long
before this kid got it and sold it. I found some maintenance records in
the trunk that had been drenched in tranny flood, suggested the car was
dealer maintained at least early on. It did have a rear fender crunch
and replace ages ago but it is not noticeable. AC switched to 134,
somehow. I didn't get the filter done to see if I could get it started,
so will have to wait on that. did not check the shiftter bushings
either, will have to do that.
I found a used tranny in Savannah if indeed this one is bad, $300 I
think it was, so that could be the fix. So a nice car for a few $100
and some work.
On another note, since the barn does not currently have power, i bought
one of those little HF generators, 2 cycle weedwhacker motor it seems.
Filled with gas/oil and it fired right up and was making power. Pretty
quiet too. I got a coupla LED shop lights to drag around, it was
lighting those up fine but flickering a bit, output is not entirely
stable but it gets the job done. 700W isn't going to run much but fine
for lights and maybe a shop vac or small compressor or power tools. It
was like $80 with a coupon so not a bad deal.

petty,
never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense.
Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the
