Pulled the instrument cluster yesterday and sent it off to BBA-Reman for
rebuilding. $115 plus another $30 for shipping both ways and it’s done. The
temperature display pixels were out on the top half of the display. The clock
display was OK, but for $115 and a lifetime guarantee it’s tough to go wrong.
It’s almost certain that the ribbon cables on the displays will fail at some
point in the future.

I’m going to order motor mounts, a transmission mount, spark plugs and front
brakes for the car shortly. There is some definite vibration transmitted to
the body when you’re sitting still at idle, and while I do expect to inspect
the mounts, I’m betting they’re the originals. I’ll do the spark plugs at the
same time since having the engine jacked up will make them far more accessible
than they normally are.

I’ve got to inspect the front brakes, but Kaleb had mentioned a pulse when
applying them hard, and after driving the car a while I noticed it, too. It’s
pretty faint, but I suspect the front rotors might have a slight warp. I’ll
take a closer look at them this weekend. I should probably go over to HF and
get a replacement dial indicator to replace the one I had that fell apart….
