There has to be a way to make it stop half way. Someone on this list
is at
least that clever. Listening to WBJC is worth the effort.
You have the wrong antenna. Get the right one and put it in, and
if it needs CLA or a mast do it. Then it will work as designed.
OK, so what exactly is the purpose of this "semi-up" option?
On a convertible it is important because the mast whistles
in the wind at full extension, so running with it mostly
down is quieter and usually works well enough. Also with
less up/down motion there's less wear and tear on the thing.
There's also the local/DX thing.
