That might be just a slight bit of hyperbole, but back in the days of the
Porsche 356A, the REAL Germans in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen claimed that each cold
start equalled 200 miles at full throttle.
I usually suggest that it's 50-80% depending on whom you read or
believe. Using an oil that flow more freely at cold temperatures reduces
and can almost eliminate cold start wear according to tribologists.
