Kaleb - Thanks for the note. Wish I could figure out where the coolant is going - perhaps the heater core has a small leak, as I do smell antifreeze for a moment or two when I first turn it on. Can't figure out why radiator tank should be pressurized from that, though. It is a small PITA because periodically the temp gauge just rockets up. I took it apart with the assistance of my Dad who is better at appliances than I am. I think it was the pump that went bad as it would not spin or pump water. Since is was an older model that came with the house, I just replaced it. Most appliance repair stores are not that expensive to use. You might have someone take a look before replacement if it is not that old.
