7grand is a bit steep for a smashed up car. If it was a straight-up
auction you could just buy it for cheepcheep and drive it as is as a fun
beater.
I have a friend who is adamantly anti-car, either rides her bike
everywhere or takes Uber. A coupla months ago an Uber Tesla picked her
up and she was chatting with the driver about the car. She knew only a
bit about it, that it was electric, which sorta appealed to her greenie
sensibilities. Anyway the driver does a hey y'all homahbeer n watchiss
and puts into insane mode or whatever it is, and floors it. She got
such a thrill from it she said at that moment she actually understood
why some people are really into cars. It did not turn her into a car
person, but she developed this newfound appreciation for the whole
deal. She asked him to do it 2 more times, he readily agreed.
