A long while back, someone recommended Esco 10498 jack stands. I looked at them on-line and then bought a pair from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0019JVIPM?ref_=pe_527950_33920250&th=1).
Here are some photographs comparing them to the FLAPS jack stands that I have had for awhile. They seem much safer and will go higher, too.
