When I did the sunroof seal on my 240D I used soapy water in a dish detergent
bottle, worked a treat.

Replacing front door seals on my 300D.

Ripped out the old one, in pieces.

Struggling with the new one, getting it into the groove is not easy
(which
is good, 'cause it'd be too easy to get out).

Epiphany: Silicone Spray Lubricant.

That is all.

Wrong wording, the wood surround around the shifter base.

Doc,

Servicing ONE of them is more than I want. I see it as just another
useless, expensive option with which M-B saddled Americans. I notice
that M-B did not inflict this nuisance on their neighbors in Europe.

I've owned 22 Mercedes manufactured between 1954 and 1987. 21 had=20
sunroofs. I've only had to service two of them and NEVER had one leak.

Many Euro cars were never equipped with a sunroof, that cost extra.
