The practical engineer part of me also can't understand why anyone would cut a hole in a perfectly good steel top, then pay mucho $ for it. I've never opened the ridiculous "sun" roofs on my 124 and 126 - 'wish they didn't have 'em. 'Couldn't get 124 and 126 without 'em.
