NEVER HAD ONE WEAR OUT, BUT THE UNIT WITH BLOWER AND 2 heater cores is pretty easy to get out. It is an "F plan (every 20-30 years) it needs to be taken out, hoses replaced and orings replaced. I suppose G service would be to preemptively put new brushes in every 40-50 years.

access fired up.  I seem to recall that they’re inside the cabin under the 
dash.  Heater valves are not fun in W110/W111/W108s.  They like to leak 
(they’re under the dash) and are not easy to get to.  A simple O ring fixes 
them, but it’s an ordeal to get them out.
