Agree - sounds like a gimmick.

I have used Mothers and Mcguires real Detailing clay with great results.  I used Mcguires Quick detailer spray as a lubricant for the clay.  Also, once the clay gets dirty toss it as it will scratch the paint.  If you are outside in the yard, etc and drop the clay it will likely be ruined as dirt will stick to the clay and is impossible to remove (IMO). So don't drop it like I did ;-)

Make sure to use plenty of lubricant (you'll get a feel for how much once you start) and buff it afterward.  You'll be amazed....

Gimmick. Clay bar in a deliverable with a handle. Detailing clay is
detailing clay.
There are a lot of one-star reviews which say it scratched the car's
finish and to use a real clay bar (this one says it is, "Patented, rubber
polymer technology ...")
