What kind of noise?
Did you take the thing apart and see the
clutch slipping to make your diagnosis. If
not then you might want to do that. A more
usual cause for that symptom is that either
the plastic cord is worn down too much or
more usually at the age these things are now,
the little tension wheel that pushes the
plastic cord against the winder is frozen due
to corrosion at the wheel or the arm pivot
that it rides on and no longer provides
enough pressure to make the cord retract the
antenna.
Might also want to wipe a little silicon oil
onto the antenna itself.
